These Red Velvet cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting will ring in the New Year. It has been over a year since I made a post. I plan on getting back to my little cupcakes in 2013.
I tried 4 times to get these pictures to load right side up! :-(

Milkshake Cupcake Birthday

A co-worker had a birthday and I made my cupcakes look like milkshakes. I got the idea from one of the many blogs that I follow. They were yummy and too much fun.  We toasted the birthday girl and in two "shakes" those cupcakes were gone!!

Back to School

Back to School cupcakes and brunch for our church pre-school.  Great fun decorating the buffet table, cupcakes, and dining tables for our very deserving teachers.  The board of directors were so excited to make the first day back a special occasion for them.

Cupcake Corner at Current Christian Church in Katy, Texas

I was so pumped that I got to read to pre-school children at my church recently and then help them decorate their cupcake faces.  It was so much fun seeing the children's "faces". The adult volunteers had as much fun as the children did decorating their cupcakes. The children learned how to use their hands to honor God and show love to their friends and family. The independent practice was to decorate a cupcake with cute little faces and colorful hands! Thanks Allison for organizing such a fun activity!!

Cupcake Bouquet for a Baby Shower

I follow mycakeschool blog and saw this cute idea of making a cupcake bouquet. I painted 13 clay pots white and followed the steps to making my edible bouquet.
I had lots of helping hands. Deborah is a frequent partner in my cupcake creations.  She is an experienced cake decorator and really helps with the finishing touches. I frosted the "base coat" with a green tinted butter cream and then flattened the frosting with a sponge paint roller. She is putting daisy petals on 120 cupcakes. We did 3 different color petals. Two other friends stapled the plastic cups together and put the green tissue in the cups. We learned a few tricks to make this easier the second time around.  Really cute!!

The hostesses did such a good job decorating the room for the shower. I just loved all the tissue flower balls.

One Year of Cupcakes

Last year on July 29th, I did my first entry on this blog.  As I looked back through this past year, I see how much I have grown and how much fun I have had with my cupcakes.  Looking forward to another sweet year of baking.
